Support Before and After Tongue- or Lip-Tie Release
A tongue-tie or lip-tie can impact far more than just feeding. These oral restrictions often affect a baby’s entire body, from posture to digestion to sleep.
At PhysioBaby Therapy & Wellness, our therapists specialize in pre- and post-frenectomy care to support your child’s comfort, function, general care for oral tension/restrictions and long-term outcomes. Whether you’re planning a release procedure or your baby is already healing, we’re here to help you navigate each step with confidence.

What Is a Frenectomy?

A frenectomy is a surgical procedure, often provided by a pediatric dentist, ENT or oral surgeon, that releases a tight or restrictive frenulum (the tissue under the tongue or upper lip). When this tissue is too short or tight, it’s called a “tongue-tie” or a “lip-tie.” This can affect how your baby moves their tongue, eats, breathes, and much more.
Frenectomy therapy supports babies and young children before and after this procedure. It involves gentle myofascial release, oral motor training, and full-body support to help your child feed, move, and grow with greater ease. Depending on your child’s unique needs, this therapy may be provided by a physical therapist or occupational therapist.
